Bentley's GTC Speed is the epitome of the brand -- it boasts more power, more aggressive styling, and more excitement for its drivers than the traditional Continental GT. The Continental GTC Speed also features a darker side -- with unique black chrome grilles, 20-inch multi-spoke sport wheels, fixed rear spoiler, black painted finish engine cover and twin rifled sport tail pipes.

The GTC Speed also features a unique look from the GT coupe upon which it is based, if only slightly so. It has a longer rear deck to stow the top, which opens or closes in under 25 seconds.

As with the other Continentals, the standard car is powered by parent company Volkswagen's 6.0 liter W12 twin-turbo engine, good in this case for a beefed up 600 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque at 1,700-5,600 rpm. This lumbering sports convertible can whisk you from zero-to-60 in just 4.5 seconds.

To help its drivers keep the extra power planted to the ground, Bentley has lowered the GTC Speed 10mm at the front, and 15mm in the rear for a sporty look and feel.

This power is transferred to all four wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission with fuel economy estimated by the EPA to be 10 mpg in the city and 17 mpg on the highway.

To bring this nearly three ton Continental to a stop are the world's largest brakes found on a production passenger car - now with the option of carbon ceramic braking power.

The luxurious ride is softened by computer controlled air springs, adjustable dampers, and a retuned suspension that delivers a ride that is both luxurious, and sporty.

On the inside, Bentley offers a generous choice of 17 colors for the leather-appointed interior which includes matching carpets and seatbelts -- as well as eight color choices for the top's headliner. There are steering-column mounted shift paddles that are mounted to a steering wheel that is hand-sewn over the course of 15 hours, a chrome wind deflector, a DVD navigation system, Sirius satellite radio, a six-CD changer in the glove compartment and voice dialing through the integrated Bluetooth system.

The front seats feature memory and heat settings, as do the two rear seats, which are split with a center console. The trunk is power opening and closing.

Lumbar massage in the front seats is optional on both models, as is a rearview camera, a space-saver spare tire instead of the tire inflation and repair kit. A selection of steering wheels, interior trims and leather coverings round out the detailed list of options.
